Kiln Formed Glass

In 1995 and 2001 glass made by Jon Firth were acquired at the prestigious Alice Springs Craft Acquisition Award.

In 1996 a piece of his work produced in conjunction with potter Pam Anderson was acquired by Katherine Town Council as part of the Brian Lambert Art Awards. Also in 1996 work created by Jon was presented to the Presidents of Indonesia and the Philippines and the Sultan of Brunei, by the NT Government.

Some Important Commissions

Jon was commissioned by the NT Government in 1999 to produce a series of bowls entitled 'Starry Night' as a memento for the State Solicitors General of their visit to the NT. The Federal Government purchased a sculptural work from the 'Wild Fish' series for ministerial offices in Darwin. In 2001 a series of his work was given by the NT Government to each of the state Attorneys General as a memento of their meeting in Darwin. He was commissioned by the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services to make a commemorative lantern for use in memorial services. In 2004 a work from the Coral Vista series was installed in a 238 foot luxury charter yacht in the Mediterranean.
