Kiln Formed fused and slumped glass on welded steel stand

Additional Information:

Hundreds of tiny glass discs are first made and then assembled on a sheet of clear glass. This is then fired in the kiln to a temperature of around 850 degrees C.

After cooling, the work is then edge polished and returned to the kiln where the piece is shaped into its final form.

The overall dimensions of this work on its stand are 48cm H X 48cm W.

It comes complete in a hand made timber presentation box.

The work's intent is to make comment on the basics of life itself and in particular the marine environment.
